I walked into the BENEE show not knowing what to expect and I left that show having had some of the most fun I've had at a show this year.

Openers are always hit or miss for me, as sometimes they don't feel like they mesh with the vibe of the artist or the fanbase but BENEE's opener, Bayli was perfect. She captured the crowd quickly with her sassy image and catchy lyrics. It was so much fun to watch her work the stage and participate with the crowd, even giving a young fan on the barricade a tiara to wear. It was the perfect crowd warm up to prepare for BENEE.
I've been to a lot of shows recently where the fanbase is very organized, in the way that each tour had a theme and everyone dressed up. This show felt much different, there were a few people dressed in fur (BENEE's merch also included fur boots, so fun!), but most fans were there very casually. Their outfits didn't judge their enjoyment of the show, though. This show brought so many fans out; it was some of the most packed I've seen this venue.

I didn't know many songs going into this show, so I got to measure the vibes based on the crowd and their reaction for each song that she played and boy did they deliver. BENEE aided in this, often participating with the crowd, asking what their favorite song was, and then joking that she removed it from the setlist. No matter, every song had the crowd alive and dancing around. Everyone around me was genuinely having the time of their lives, it was so refreshing to watch and be a part of.
The last few songs of the set proved to be some of the fan favorites with "Supalonely" satisfying all of the fans that joined in 2020 when that song blew up on Tiktok and "Green Honda" bringing out screams from everyone in the crowd. In particular, a group of fans had peeled away from the main pit and were bouncing around with each other and having so much fun. It was so sweet to see. She even brought out her song with Joji, "Afterthought" to spice up the setlist. Overall, it was such a fun mix of her discography.

This was one of my favorite shows I've seen so far this year. If you haven't seen BENEE on tour before, definitely catch her shows. You can find her tour schedule on her website or subscribe to be notified when she goes on tour again!
