Dermot Kennedy Transported His Fans To Ireland on his Weight of the Woods Tour

A few weeks ago, Dermot Kennedy put on the most phenomenal show in Toronto, Ontario. His sold out show at the largest amphitheater in Canada, The RBC Amphitheater, was not only a performance, but a partial escape to Ireland - where the singer is from.

As the lights dimmed, the crowd erupted into cheers. He began the night with the opening track from The Weight of the Woods album, “the Weight of the Woods (Reprised)”, a beautiful, vocally driven, intro into the album. Immediately following with the second track from the same album, “Honest.”

From smiles to tears, everyone in the venue was feeling a different emotion while experiencing the raw vocals as Dermot performs songs such as “Outnumbered,” “Lost,” and “Better Days.” His set was a stripped back, acoustic-styled set, allowing for a much more intimate feel of the show.

Dermot’s voice is so unique, raw and powerful, that it carried throughout the whole venue. Every word, every note, just gave the audience chills. The performance felt as if you were transported to a magical forest - just as the stage was set up. The Weight of the Woods stage setup was absolutely beautiful, with moss-like decorations as well as rock ruins to resemble similarities to his most recent album cover.

Dermot has a very unique show, not much like many artists currently touring. This is definitely one tour that you don’t want to miss.
