Last week, Ruel's stop on the Kicking My Feet Tour in Vancouver, British Columbia at The Vogue was a captivating performance. The lights and stage design were absolutely stunning, with a door of light centre stage, and bandmate on each side - a guitarist on the left, and drummer on the right.
The minute the lights went down, the crowd bursted into cheers and screams. As he entered the stage, the door in the centre began to open with smoke flowing out and flooding the stage. As the crowd began to see his silhouette, they cheered even louder. He opened his show with some big pop bangers such as, “Only Ever” followed by “Not What’s Going On.”

Throughout the whole show, the energy of the crowd stayed up, even when Ruel slowed the tempo down. Amidst the show, he performed a couple of songs solo - one on an acoustic guitar and one the piano. These songs include, “Even Angels Won’t,” and “No News Is Good News.”
Speaking with many fans, they all agreed the show moved them in ways that they hadn’t felt at many shows. At the beginning with a burst of excitement and towards the end more deeper and nostalgic feelings. A fan quoted that the song that moved them the most was “Even Angels Won’t,” being performed solo on the piano. There was a direct spotlight on him, and nowhere else, making the song that much more impactful.
At the end of the day, you can say I left the show Kicking My Feet!
