I got to experience the euphoria of the band’s live performance in Austin last week on tour with Little Stranger and I can’t stop thinking about it.

The Ohio based band is one of the most interesting things about music right now, combining genres you don’t normally see together to embody emotions and feelings better than ever before. Their music, a combination of reggae, hiphop, and funk, gives you something new and unexpected with each new song you listen to. It has a way of locking you in and making you come back for more. Everything that’s special about their music becomes apparent when they perform live.

Seeing that same energy translate to a live setting was something completely different. Tropidelic didn't just go through the motions to perform their songs, they created an atmosphere around each song. The room felt less like a concert and more like a giant summer party. It was incredible to see the crowd completely give themselves over to the music, dancing along without a care in the world.

I had so much fun with the crowd that I genuinely was shocked when their set was over, only because I didn’t realize it had been the whole set already. They say time passes faster when you’re having fun but that was the first time in the crowd of a show that I’ve felt it personally.
