It’s a crisp, chilly night over at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, CO as fans eagerly await L.A trio MUNA to take the stage, but not before bedroom pop diva Hemlocke Springs has an opportunity to warm up the crowd.

Hailing from Raleigh, NC, blue haired, whisk wielding dancing queen Hemlocke Springs wows fans with hits like “w-w-w-w-w” and “set me free” from her most recent album the apple tree under the sea as well as some memorable tunes from her 2023 debut album going…going…gone. Many of us met Hemlocke in 2022 after the release of her hit single “girlfriend” and she has effectively catapulted into stardom since.

Shortly after Springs launches us into a night of blissful chaos and c*nt, main players MUNA take the dusk riddled stage.

A silhouette of each band member is cast by the blinding stage production that comes in flashes as the house lights are as low as they can go. Opening with the tour’s namesake “It Gets So Hot” from 2026 album Dancing On The Wall, frontwoman Katie Gavin commands the stage with her unequivocal vocals and stunning stage presence.

MUNA, composed of Katie Gavin, Josette Maskin, and Naomi McPherson, adorn us with indie-pop ditties like “Wannabeher” and “Number One Fan”. The band leaves no stone unturned, cranking out ballads about mary jane, trans rights and crying on the bathroom floor (relatable).

Throughout the night the band takes pause in between songs to banter with the crowd and share heartwarming tid-bits about their tour. Gavin also mentions their Tour bus fire that made headlines earlier in the week, speaking about how their tour crew really saved the day, “there was a bus fire two days ago but our crew and tour manager were superheroes that came to the rescue. This tour was been crazy fucking intense but having a near death experience like that puts a lot of things into perspective”. Ending on a light-hearted note, Gavin tells the crowd “I can’t believe how lucky we are to do this with these people, I’m really glad we didn’t die because I’m not done, I love you all!”

After some necessary trauma-dumping, the night carries on with one bop after another. The crowd is in pure awe at the display of sheer talent and musicality from this group. We don’t want this night to end.

After performing “East Side Girls” the band saunters off stage, unbeknownst to the crowd, preparing to play a five-song encore. Beginning with “Stay Away” and officially ending the evening by bringing out Hemlocke to perform the song that brought this group to prominence, “Silk Chiffon” off their 2017 debut album About U, Red Rocks is teary-eyed and fulfilled, dreaming of the day they get to be in the presence of this posse once again.
