LA based indie rock band, One Outta Ten, open the new year with a new single titled Distant Stars (Withstand). The band drops you right into the credits of an early 2000s rom-com, built on addictive melodies, ethereal guitar lines, and intimate lyrics that invoke that rush of falling in love for the first time. With every listen, the track only pulls you in deeper, revealing your new favorite part every time. Don't be surprised if this song stays on repeat well past January!

This song genuinely has something for everyone. On the first listen, the dreamy melodies draw you in, leaning into the shoegaze aesthetic. As the song progresses, shifts in melody and tempo bring the rock influences to the forefront. You'll come into the song for the love lyrics and nostalgia and leave dancing around your living room with the song on repeat.

Lead singer, Josh de Leon, perfectly captures the sound of being deep in love with his intimate vocals, with vulnerability and longing seeping out of each lyric. The song serves as a mirror to a previous release, Two of Cups. While Two of Cups, written from Josh's partner's point-of-view, eases the anxieties around a new but stable love, Distant Stars lets those anxieties come to a head, sharing the fears of the universe coming between the couple. Distant Stars is a prayer to allow the love to withstand whatever is thrown its way.

The band has an upcoming live show on January 23rd at the Echo in Los Angeles where they'll be premiering this single and a few other songs from their upcoming album. I cannot wait to see Distant Stars live. The band's energy and infectious melodies translate so well to live shows and this song especially will electrify the audience.
