The Early Bird Gets the Worm!: Orca’s new single “Dove” hits streaming
On Friday, August 28, Orca –a rising dream-pop duo from San Antonio, TX– released their new, quaintly titled single, “Dove” that takes listeners on a melancholic, dreamy journey about “ordinary love”.
Composed of the musical talents of Mylena Velasquez and Daniel Galloway, this latest work from the duo follows their April release of their EP, Soren. The three-minute ballad opens with gossamer drum fills, delicate guitar and my favorite aerophone, the flute. Themes of lovelorn and routine are explored, pacifying listeners with simple, yet wistful lyrics backed with synthy analog resonance and breathy woodwind vibrations.
